Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Skyline is North America’s largest steel foundation construction products company, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Nucor Corporation (NUE), North America’s largest steel manufacturer. Skyline is looking for a Product Engineer to join our geostructural team. The opportunity will be based in our Parsippany NJ engineering office, or Camp Hill PA plant.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Ensure that Geostructrual products meet the performance demands of our customers and the engineering community.
• Guide product testing program.
• Support and maintain relationships with existing vendors – both internal and external to Nucor.
• Develop new products and continuously seek out ways to improve and expand the Geostructrual product line.
• Provide support for customers to resolve job site installation issues.
• Engage with industry groups such as Post-Tensioning Institute, ASTM, and DFI through conference attendance and participation in technical committees.
• Work with Nucor Skyline plants to find the best way to build and deliver customer orders.
• Review construction documents (plans and specifications) to help sales team build project quotes.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or comparable engineering field
- 4 years of relevant construction industry experience
- 1+ year experience in the foundation construction industry.
- Experience using AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
- Literate in geotechnical reports and boring logs.
- Experience in manufacturing for construction products.
