Product Lifecycle Management, Certification Scientist (On Call) - Eurofins USA Food Testing

A Certification Scientist handles routine tasks and approvals to support Certification reviews and data management initiatives. They will work and maintain database software systems, and can work with limited supervision to support updates, maintain data quality, and execute data verification initiatives according to specific business rules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision. 
• Under direction, supports review and activities and approvals per client rules such as but not limited to: 
  • Identifies and executes tasks and next steps defined by established processes.
  • Completes and submits work for review to meet deadlines.
  • Executes approvals following approved process and approved set of rules.
  • Engages with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders following business rules and communicates information requests in a very clear, timely, and succinct manner. 
  • Completes first drafts of data reviews, analysis of progress, and tracks and submits for review and compilation by supervisor, project leader, and/or colleagues.
  • Reviews documentation for accuracy and compliance following established business rules.
  • Identifies gaps and/or missing information and communicates to appropriate contact.
  • Maintains and updates documentation as required. 
  • Works within specialized software systems
  • Contributes to process improvement initiatives. 
• Collaborates and communicates with project leaders, colleagues, and subject matter experts within organization effectively. 
• Collaborates with internal and external resources to find solutions.    
• Ensures appropriate and timely communication of key information among team, project leader, and supervisor. 
• Establishes and maintains professional rapport with colleagues. 
• Follows SOPs and best practices under minimal supervision. 
• Participates in meetings and conference calls 
• Reads and responds to emails, phone calls in a timely manner.  
• Maintains documentation, organizes computer and hard copy files for corporate records and sharing. 
• Keeps updated and educated on relevant news, literature, and findings in the industry.  
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Seeks out information/facilities to get the job completed.   
• Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner. 
• Reports to lab as needed to support on-site product certification, laboratory, and food product and process development work as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

• Bachelor’s degree in food science/technology, engineering, science, quality, data science or related field. Work experience may be substituted for education.
• Data management and compliance experience a plus.
• Previous science based technician support is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as database applications 
• Ability to execute multiple assignments/ tasks 
• Ability to build rapport with project stakeholders
• Ability to maintain a mindset focused on continuous improvement 
• Knowledge of food and supplement regulations (FDA, CFR, Labeling, Nutrition) would be an asset 
• Database experience a plus

• Employees must be in commutable distance to come into the lab if needed.
• Reports to lab as needed to support on-site product certification, laboratory, and food product and process development work as needed.

Shift: On-Call, Monday- Friday

Pay Rate: Starting at $25/Hr.
