Product Manager – Energy and Power Solutions

We design and manufacture the world’s leading industrial and IT enclosures, racks, and accessories, including high efficiency, high-density power management, and climate control systems for industrial, data center, outdoor and hybrid applications.
We are seeking a Product Manager with strong knowledge of industrial energy and power as well as familiarity with UL standards, 508A (Industrial Control Panels) and 891 (Switchboards)
Responsibilities:
- Management of the domestic product portfolio throughout the product lifecycle from product launch to product phase-out. Continuous support of the product development process.
- Accelerates Rittal's activities in the area of Energy & Power Solutions.
- Market and trend analyses: Using current market trends as a source of new business opportunities.
- Complete competitive analyses and comparisons
- Identification of the benefit drivers for the customer and specification of the resulting product requirements.
- Development of optimal product feature sets (price vs. function) and achievement of the maximum standardization.
- Define product and novelty strategies to meet market requirements.
- Modularization of long-lived products – quick adaptation to individual customer requirements and changing market requirements or adaptation to local market requirements.
- Partner management: Establish contacts with partner companies, strategic suppliers, universities, and other institutions.
- Product marketing: Definition of market launch packages (trade fair concepts, advertising activities, training, PR, etc.)
- Strategic partner of the regional business manager but can also function as a service provider for the regions and countries.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or industrial engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience and extensive knowledge in multiple areas: Energy technology, low-voltage technology, conventional energies, renewable energies, focus on low-voltage.
- Industry knowledge and contacts in the "Energy & Power" Environment
- Experience leading UL Projects.
- Ability to develop strategy, understand processes and tools of implementation.
- Ability to communicate and cooperate effectively in a matrix organization.
- Possesses the ability to achieve goals even without disciplinary leadership responsibility (informal leadership through persuasion), has a high degree of overreach, but also tenacity and frustration tolerance.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and create win-win situations.
- Ability to communicate across organization.
- Strong business knowledge (especially in the areas of marketing, controlling, market analyses)
- Strong technical understanding of the development of products and knowledge in the fields of mechanics and electrical engineering
- Good analytical skills and ability to think strategically.
- Ability to work collaborative in a team environment.
- PC skills (especially Office), other software tools such as CAD are an advantage
