Job Summary and Qualifications
HCA Healthcare’s Registration Services organization is seeking a Product Manager for a high-paced delivery team composed of technical leads, product engineers, and domain experts. The Product Manager is responsible for driving the future of the product. The Registration Services organization is responsible for patient-facing digital products in the registration space. The candidate will collaborate with business partners, vendors and other stakeholders to understand product priority and set the vision for improving the Registration experience. Building strong relationships with teams, peers, leadership, business partners, stakeholders and vendors is a key component for success in this position.
The Product Manager will ensure that business needs are elicited, technology roadmaps are developed and align to business strategy, and products are delivered as planned. He/she will define product strategy, set problem priorities and provide direction and priority to delivery teams through the technical leaders who maintain product backlogs. His/her teams will be responsible for sizing overall opportunity, impacts and full potential for new product features as well as capturing the high-level business objectives across various business units, crafting a product vision and solution approach while partnered with Registration Service peers and leadership, Enterprise Architecture, Information Protection, Enterprise Data and various Centers of Excellence across the HCA Enterprise.
The candidate should demonstrate an understanding of complex ideas, and be capable of evangelizing the strategy, and priorities to the team and stakeholders. This role should practice attentive listening and display executive presence as they will be frequently meeting with senior-level business management and presenting to large groups including Product advisory committees. The Product Manager should perform all duties with a focus on quality of work, attention to detail and a high level of self-management and self-awareness.
Additional responsibilities include:
Write and deliver business requirement documents and artifacts required to enable the team's development of products, features, and infrastructure.
Maintain and continuously prioritize backlog and roadmap based on data and customers' needs.
Create narratives to advocate for and justify product launches / changes.
Plan and define the long-term vision of your product areas of ownership.
Build and improve a working relationship with your partners and stakeholders.
Determine and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that measure the success of the product.
Contribute to and develop the team's processes/mechanisms.
Regularly participate in stand-ups, design reviews and other meetings with engineers, and contribute to the discussion to ensure a high-quality bar.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Advocate on behalf of delivery teams/individual contributors when concerns or issues arise
Use product expertise to expose trends and influence decisions for our stakeholders
Build healthy trust and partnership relationships with staff, leadership, stakeholders, peers, and vendors
Work with leadership in resolving conflicts involving staff, vendors, stakeholders and business partners
Provide excellent cross functional communication with Engineering, Analysis, Architecture, QA, and other technical stakeholder team members
Strategy & Planning
Collaborate with product, technology, and business teams across HCA to set and evangelize product vision, strategy, metrics and roadmaps while influencing measured successful product and feature rollouts
Define new products and drive alignment across multiple business and technical stakeholder teams
Influence conceptualization and development to produce high-quality digital products that provide measurable patient value
Establish priority for features and capabilities to ensure project timelines are met while navigating priority tradeoffs to support changing business needs
In collaboration with Registration Services Strategic leadership, building a roadmap to drive real value for our digital products with milestones for success inclusive of discovery, and measurement
Qualify & quantify the return on investment of new strategic work requests and product functionality through business case development and presentation to senior executives
Delivery & Execution
Lead product delivery teams and work with matrix partners to drive execution of projects across the product lifecycle
Seek input and expertise from stakeholders across lines of business
Coordinate across business units to create cohesive ITG vision and requirements
Translate business needs into documented, prioritized scope/plans and funding requests
Monitor product ITG requests and manages performance against ITG development goals
Assess product and project effectiveness post implementation; leading troubleshooting efforts when needed
Deliver status reports, identifying and escalating risks and issues when appropriate
Monitor and act on product performance data (e.g., patient actions, delivery, financial, and operational) to identify new enhancement opportunities
Build metrics to help prioritize and drive execution towards the product vision and strategy
Work with finance, product colleagues and operations to ensure financial viability, operational excellence and continuous improvement
Support proactive issue resolution and productive problem solving when concerns arise around product design and business processes
Continually improve products using measured KPIs and OKRs
Set direction to ensure delivery teams meet work objectives
Organize delivery teams and then allow them to self-govern and execute o Support Change Management and the improvements in Change Control processes while ensuring minimal/no impact to patients
Recommend and lead change for incorporating process improvements into overall product management
Work with UX to develop prototypes, mockups, and/or wireframes for new products and product functionality to cast product vision into the organization.
Review technical design with other Delivery Leads, Product Managers and peers
Ability to understand technical challenges and make educated trade-offs with your team; know business and technical workflows, needs, value drivers, and decision making process, in order to deliver product
What qualifications you will need:
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree - Required
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
7 or more years
OTHER/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated passion around improving digital consumer experience; consumer and data-focused
Strong track record of execution in a multifaceted organization, requiring building sponsorship and collaborating with internal product owners to successfully roll out products
Proven ability to engage with all levels of staff within varying lines of business
Creative problem solver with experience in early-stage discovery who understands how to deliver impactful products in a fast-paced environment
Constantly looking to hone one’s instincts through patient feedback and data insight
Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
Experience with cross-team coordination, project management concepts, and executive presentation skills
Experience working on program managed rollout and operations of large-scale enterprise software systems/platforms or large-scale online presence
Experience and disciplined in Agile development techniques
Experience with end-to-end product delivery
Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of product priorities
Experience with people influencing
Self-starter who can collaborate with cross-functional partners in a dynamic environment and deliver results
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience influencing digital transformation
Experience within the healthcare industry is a plus, but not required
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, taking ownership and initiative and holding self and others accountable
