About the Position:
Anza seeks a Product Marketing Manager to join our growing renewable energy technology start-up and fuel sales growth and platform usage through research, effective positioning, and communication. This person will support these goals through primary customer research, data analysis, product positioning, messaging, training and launch campaigns.
This position will report to the Senior Director of Marketing and will be a strategic and execution-oriented role with the ability to impact our growing company significantly. It requires an excellent communicator and writer who is comfortable with:
- Collaborating with the product team and external clients and partners;
- Building & maintaining excellent relationships with the sales team to promote cross-functional learning and better sales materials and tools and marketing positioning based on customer intel; Adapting to change to learn and grow; Creating clarity from ambiguity; and, Utilizing frameworks to simplify messaging.
- We seek a candidate with experience conducting B2B customer interviews and collaborating with an internal software team.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- Project manage cross-functional team to execute go-to-market product launches and releases. Collaborate with product, marketing, sales, customer success and leadership to plan and execute multi-threaded launch campaigns for new product features or changes in go-to-market strategy.
- Customer discovery: Conduct customer interviews and research for the benefit of the sales, tech, customer success, and marketing teams. Synthesize and report on learnings from discussions. Produce customer proof points, case studies, testimonials, references, and videos.
- Positioning - Maintain mastery of Anza’s value proposition, create appropriate messaging based on customer audience, and include competitive positioning.
- Develop and maintain a library of customer proof points for different verticals, customer personas, and success metrics.
- Develop and maintain customer personas and journeys.
- Train sales, marketing, and customer success teams on current product messaging and proof points.
- Contribute to product roadmap by synthesizing primary customer research and analyzing key metrics, including sales and customer adoption.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of Anza’s competitive space and lead positioning on Anza’s competitive differentiation.
- Periodically review and inform updates to product pricing policy with sales leadership and executives.
Content creation -
- Write product release materials, demo scripts, and knowledge base articles to be the internal communicator for the product team to the rest of marketing, sales, customer success and leadership.
- Write influential blogs and collateral pieces to help move customers along their buyer journey while raising awareness about Anza and our unique value proposition.
- Create video scripts and manage the production of videos for the platform user knowledge center.
- Produce customer proof points, case studies, testimonials, references and videos.
- Internal communications & collaboration -
- Tech: be the daily point person between marketing and the product team. Provide recommendations to the tech team on word usage, design and marketing and sales interaction for the Anza platform.
- Sales: Be the daily point person for sales regarding the demo environment and positioning and learn from customers.
- Design - identify new visuals needed for the website, collateral, emails, social, etc.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years of B2B product marketing experience
- 2+ years of energy storage and/or solar industry experience preferred
- Experience leading GTM cross functional teams for product launches or releases
- In-depth knowledge of product marketing best practices and dedication to staying on top of trends
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong listening skills and empathy
- Proven experience receiving writing or creative feedback well to learn and produce a better deliverable
- Strong sense of creativity, imagination, and innovation
- Interpersonal skills - proactive, clear, transparent communicator with the ability to work well cross-functionally and collaborate with leadership and executives
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Analytical mind for data analysis
