Product and Service Development Engineer II - Mobile Apps & Personalization - BMW Of North America

As the Product and Service Development Engineer II - Mobile Apps & Personalization, you will verify the functionality of development projects, as well as identify/define market requirements for the US market, for all BMW Group vehicles (BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce, BMW i). You will identify, communicate, and prioritize top issues to project management, functional owners, and development partners in BMW and synchronize and agree on resolution implementation according to project milestones to ensure product quality. You will validate and confirm need for the requirements through customer feedback and industry standards. Conduct market & customer research, competitor benchmarking, and BMW Group product evaluations. You will work with US market process partners to ensure market alignment for future features to address customer needs. You will perform validation activities for assigned area including local, weekend, and overnight test drive events with engineering colleagues and process partners while participating in multi-day (long and short distance) overnight and weekend test drives with multiple test vehicles and engineers from Woodcliff Lake, Spartanburg, Oxnard, and Munich. You will interface and steer project suppliers, as well as report project status and test results to BMW engineering departments using the standard BMW reporting tools (e.g. Brian, ALM) and other agreed methods. You will support the development process by validating pre-integration software in vehicle and/or on devices/apps depending on project need. You will create and maintain test cases for current and future system features. Your critical responsibilities will include the installation, update, and maintenance of development hardware in test racks and vehicles.

In support of BMW of North America business objectives, this position requires regular attendance at a BMW office with remote work capability (hybrid), three days per week in office, but flexible up to five days per week in office depending on project needs.

The pay range for this role is: $86,084.00 - $101,275.00.

The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-4 years in engineering or software development field.
• Valid US Driver's license.
• Available for overnight business travel.
• Self-motivated, strong communication skills (written & verbal), team-oriented mindset, highly analytical.
• Able to work under pressure and with compressed timelines.
• Ability to adapt and willing to continually learn new technologies and concepts.
• Must have experience with BMW tools (E-Sys) and be able to install, flash, and code hardware with unreleased software.

Preferences:

• 1-2 years working within BMW development especially with pre-integration HW/SW.
• BMW B1, B2, and E1 license.
• Basic knowledge of automotive technologies with focus on BMW.
• Developed networks into BMW AG (especially development departments).
• German language skills.
