Position summary:
The Day Supervisor/Process Trainer will give support to the shift supervisors and the process technicians to accomplish company objectives efficiently and safely. Monitor the process and make any necessary process changes needed to maintain operating parameters within specification. Update and maintain all standard operating procedures, training manuals and MOC's for the production department. Provide classroom and on-the-job training to all four shifts for all areas of the plant and administer initial and re-qualification testing for each area.
Responsibilities:
- Update all standard operating procedures, training material (training manual, area-specific training manuals, MOC's and process change information) and conduct classroom and on-the-job training for process technicians.
- Administer initial qualification and re-qualification tests for each process area.
- Develop and maintain the process knowledge of the employees to achieve company and department objectives safely with minimal process
- Utilize process knowledge and outside consultants to validate area tests and develop the testing program.
- Support and assist the shift supervisors and process technicians in the production of PVOH.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, company, and departmental Safety and Environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Minimize injuries and spills/releases.
- Ensure compliance with regulations on safety/environmental issues.
- Develop and maintain plant personnel skills and know how
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 7 Years Polymer Plant Experience, Polymer Processing and DCS Experience (Yokogawa preferred)
- Ability to manage digital tools (GoPlant, Voovio, E-EPAS, Shift Connector)
- Experience training individuals one on one and in a group setting.
- Experience in chemical plant equipment (distillation columns, heat exchangers, pumps, instrumentation systems, continuous stirred tanks reactors)
- Experience in the operation of chemical plant equipment (such as distillation columns, heat exchangers, pumps, instrumentation systems, and continuous stirred tank reactors) is required
- Knowledge of polymer reactions, handling highly viscous solutions, plant support systems, pneumatic conveying of solids, azeotropic distillation, product dryers.
- PVOH experience a plus
- Proficient experience in MS Excel and SAP
- Outstanding verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, creative thinking, consulting, and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize work to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving/decision-making skills.
- Ability to multi-task
- Candidates must have a valid driver's license.
