EDUCATION AND EXPEREIENCE
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is an onsite, full-time safety-sensitive position. Standard schedule is 9-hour days Monday through Thursday and 4 hours on Friday. Flexible start times are available. The majority of work will be performed in the Philly Shipyard office. Occasional field work in the shipyard’s fabrication shops, dry docks, warehouses, and onboard the vessel will be required. May be required to work after hours and from home to support meetings with other time zones. Occasional (<5%) international and domestic travel may be required.

- Ensure that all PSI safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met.
- Review and approve production installation drawings, manufacturing drawings, and bills of material. Check for accuracy against basic/detail design, yard and project standards, 3D model, previous vessels, and any known design changes. Identify any missing equipment or parts, interferences, production related or other foreseen issues. Interface with design partner for revision and track status.
- Participate and provide input to build method planning process. Interface with Planning and Production teams to determine correct timing and discipline for installation of all parts and equipment in assigned systems or areas.
- Participate in weekly “Prep Team” cross-functional meetings. Present installation drawings to meeting participants. Discuss, review, and record any requested changes by production or planning. Coordinate with design partner to revise drawings and bills of material when needed.
- Manage all drawing and bill of material releases and revisions for assigned areas including upload into document management and ERP systems.
- Write Scope of Work documents to support tender of subcontracted labor.
- Create and distribute engineering Work Packages for use by Planning and Production teams according to assigned schedule.
- Create Installation Procedures where needed to explain complex installation processes.
- Create quality control or testing documents such as NDT maps and checklists, flushing procedures, system pressure testing, lube oil and fluids requirements, etc
- Provide field support for assigned systems and areas when required. Respond to issues by going onboard, documenting the issue, and developing a solution. Interface with production supervisors, workers, other engineers, purchasing, and planning as appropriate.
- Assist in the development of yard shipbuilding standards for each project and the application of them to new projects.
- Maintain working knowledge and monitor development of classification and regulatory rules and requirements pertaining to assigned systems and ship areas of responsibility.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY

EDUCATION AND EXPEREIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related degree, plus 2 years’ experience is required, or
- Associates Degree in drafting, technical drawing, or related degree plus 5 years’ experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office and basic CAD systems such as AutoCAD.
- Experience with a 3D modeling software is required, experience with Tribon or Aveva Marine is a plus.
- Knowledge/experience concerning ship design and modern shipbuilding practices.
- Experience with American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Steel Vessel Rules, IMO Regulations, and US Coast Guard Requirements is a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is a plus.
- International experience or familiarity with European and/or Asian Shipbuilding Standards is a plus.
