Production Graphic Designer - Georgia-Pacific

Georgia-Pacific's Hummingbird® is seeking a talented, experienced, and highly collaborative Production Graphic Designer to join our team in Cincinnati, OH at our Hummingbird® headquarters. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Project Managers and the Prepress Department to adapt client-supplied art for structures in the Corrugated Packaging and Displays industry. This position is a 100% on-site position; note that this role's function is 80% technical art-focused and 20% creative art-focused, with little to no direct customer-facing responsibilities.

What You Will Do

• Using brand guidelines and existing collateral as visual references, you'll partner with Sales Team, Project Managers and Technical planning specialists to adapt production art for packaging, displays, and structures, ensuring specific imposition requirements are met. Collaborate with the Graphics Manager, Color Manager, Account Service Rep, and
• Prepress SME to ensure the highest quality file outputs.
• Prepare Print-Ready files for large-format digital press printing
• Communicate with Project Managers to address general art questions, job specifications, and clarification of notes.
• Manipulate customer art files to fit project specifications (if needed)
• Apply Hummingbird best practices to correct and edit client art, identifying opportunities to optimize the process of producing Production Ready artwork.
• Use constructive criticism and feedback to develop and refine art.
• Maintain accurate records of all work and time using our Workflow Interface.
• Output physical press proof files and Epson printer proofs; ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Communicate effectively with peers and management in a fast-paced environment
• Apply a strong sense of business acumen to understand and incorporate organizational strategies and objectives into daily work.
• Seek and share knowledge about the capabilities and limitations of artwork preparation
• Able to leverage strong time-management and organizational skills to operate independently with minimal direction.
• Effective problem solver and motivated thinker.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience working as a Production Artist
• Thorough understanding of industry-standard file preparation practices for Print Pre-Production
• Highly detail oriented in delivering clean, efficient, and error-free files
• Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (ie. Illustrator and Photoshop)
• Knowledge of printing and prepress imposition
• Experience managing files and maintains existing file organization structures

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in the Digital Printing Industry
• Experience in the Corrugated or Packaging Industry
• Experience in Color Managed file preparation
• Knowledge of Flexographic/Lithographic/Gravure Printing Industries
• Experience working with Project Managers, Creative Designers and Prepress Operators
• Hybrid Packz Software experience
