Job Overview:

The Production Packaging Bakery Worker plays a crucial role in the final stages of the baking process by packaging baked goods, ensuring quality control, and maintaining production standards. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining food safety and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Packaging:

  • Properly package baked goods according to company standards and specifications.
  • Label products accurately with relevant information such as expiration dates, product descriptions, and nutritional information.
  • Ensure packaging materials are used efficiently to avoid waste.

• Quality Control:

  • Inspect baked goods for quality, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
  • Identify and remove any defective products from the packaging line.
  • Ensure that products meet weight, size, and appearance specifications before packaging.

• Production Support:

  • Operate and maintain packaging machinery, including troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Monitor production schedules to ensure timely packaging and order fulfillment.
  • Communicate with the baking and production team to ensure smooth workflow and production targets are met.

• Safety and Cleanliness:

  • Follow food safety standards, including proper handling and storage of products.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with sanitation and hygiene regulations.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

• Inventory and Stocking:

  • Monitor packaging supplies and notify management when supplies are low.
  • Assist in organizing and stocking finished goods for shipping or storage.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a bakery or food production environment is an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment:

• Standing and walking for the majority of the shift.
• Exposure to various temperatures (warm near ovens, cool in packaging areas).
• Fast-paced production environment with the potential for repetitive tasks.

Schedule:

• Full-time, part-time, or shift work depending on production needs.
