About the Job
- Ensure safety and health of all members, fostering a culture of personal responsibility for safety.
- Collaborate with the safety department to drive engagement and interaction.
- Support safety culture, adhere to safety requirements, and build relationships with safety committee members.
- Participate in plant-wide safety reviews and engage in the MDI daily process.
- Perform risk assessments and prioritize initiatives with the team.
- Set and communicate high performance expectations, using lean tools to exceed customer quality, delivery, and cost expectations.
- Develop a team that excels in problem prevention, quality assurance, and creative problem-solving through training and mentoring.
- Ensure cleanliness and 5S adherence, and coach member-run teams to maintain standards.
- Exceed plant goals of 1S improvement per quarter.
- Recognize and reward improvements, and use the “shout out” tool to highlight positive changes.
- Pursue each member’s highest potential for personal and organizational success.
- Conduct 1:1 meetings to build on improvement opportunities and utilize member strengths.
- Understand team members' career desires and collaboratively develop growth plans.
- Foster an open and trusting environment where team members feel valued.
- Challenge members to set their own goals and hold them accountable.
- Collaborate with support departments to drive improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Organizational/Business Management, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of direct labor supervision in manufacturing, distribution, retail, or customer service, with lean manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
