About the Job
SUMMARY:
* Monitors the activities of production personnel within assigned rooms to ensure that quality and throughput are maximized, and that orders are processed in a safe, cGMP compliant, and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED):
* Achieve Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost objectives for assigned areas.
* Ensure compliance with all OSHA and CGMP requirements.
* Effectively communicate with Inspectors, Line Leaders and shop floor personnel to guide, mentor, coach and develop teams to achieve business goals.
* Hold employees accountable for safety, quality, throughput, and cost performance -- coordinate recognition, training, discipline, termination and hiring process.
* Use progressive discipline to ensure compliance with company policy and collective bargaining agreement.
* Effectively manage union relations and grievance handling.
* Establish and utilize metrics to drive improvement activity and ensure that decisions are based on facts and measurement trends.
* Assign trained and qualified Inspectors, Line Leaders, and shop floor personnel to assigned rooms.
* Coordinate with Mechanical staff to ensure efficient room operations.
* Ensure timely machine set-ups, validations and materials delivery -- expedite items as needed.
* Review Shop Floor Packets for special job requirements, all required information / attachments and deliver packets to appropriate Production Inspectors / Line Leaders.
* Resolve discrepancies / issues with the Shop Floor Packet in a timely manner.
* Investigate and resolve production related batch record issues / discrepancies (e.g., reconciliation); initiate cGMP investigations as needed.
* Ensures room environmental parameters are properly defined in I.O. Tech system.
* Ensures daily production data -- safety, quality, throughput, changeover and downtime data is collected and accurate.
* Use visual tools to communicate performance and action required.
* Learn and apply best practices related to visual management, set-up reduction, and lean methods to eliminate waste
* Initiate improvement projects and coordinate shop team to improve performance, remove roadblocks as needed.
* Involve shop floor personnel in decisions and develop self-sustaining processes to manage day-to-day activity.
* Works with IT to resolve issues as they pertain to JDE, touch screen and label generation programs
EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT:
* 2+ years of prior supervisory experience
* BS degree or equivalent work experience in a production environment
