AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network to be accessible by standard smartphones. Called SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network is being designed to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet – on land, at sea and in flight.
Summary:
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the manufacturing complex systems for our constellation of telecommunications satellites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Satellite mechanical and electrical assembly operations
- Oversight of personnel, ensuring the product is manufactured meeting all quality expectations on time and within cost expectations.
- 6S / housekeeping and overall effectiveness of shift operations
- Employee training and process auditing will also be required to support departmental objectives
- Motivate and engage employees, as well as build trust and confidence among the management team.
- Partner with other area supervisors, managers, and operations resources to address and solve critical operational and employee performance issues in a timely manner
- Support and engage the team in efforts to achieve operational metrics and goals
Minimum Qualifications:
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder
- 5 years experience supervising groups of at least 10 direct employees
- Strong organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Demonstrated leadership behaviors to motivate, engage, and build trust
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific, or related technical field
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Experience directly supervising manufacturing operations and personnel
