Job Overview
Our client, a custom CNC machining business, is seeking a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations at their manufacturing facility in Nicholasville, KY. This role is crucial in maintaining efficiency, ensuring product quality, and driving the company’s strategic growth. The ideal candidate will be part of the Leadership Team, focusing on production oversight, team management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Production Supervision
- Oversee all manufacturing operations to ensure timely production that meets specifications.
- Lead and support teams across multiple shifts in a fast-paced environment.
- Schedule and manage direct reports, resolving production-related challenges.
- Recruit, train, and develop machinists and team leaders, providing performance management.
- Drive process standardization and improvements for quality and operational efficiency.
- Set production goals aligned with overall business objectives and ensure visibility of progress through data analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Monitor and manage machine maintenance to minimize downtime.
Safety & Compliance
- Establish a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory standards (OSHA/ITAR/AS9100).
- Train staff on safety measures and address any concerns regarding quality or safety.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with department heads, external partners, and vendors to align production strategies with business goals.
- Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
- Partner with Human Resources to cultivate an inclusive, productive work environment built on trust and integrity.
Budget Support
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Contribute to budget control by managing consumables and routine purchases.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, preferably a machine shop.
- Strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data, streamline processes, and implement innovative solutions.
- Problem-solving skills in resolving maintenance and production issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with budgeting and project management.
- Knowledge of CNC machining and tools purchasing.
- Experience working with startups or in a growing business environment.
