Summary:

Hours may vary based on the shift schedules in place. Additionally, the Production Supervisor may be required to start earlier or stay later than the other crew members on the shift, or both.
Supervise production personnel operating within designated machine centers, ensuring optimal placement of staff in specific roles to enhance overall efficiency.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in maintaining production logs for machine lines and submit them to the Production Manager at the end of each shift. Report any instances where quality control standards are not being met to the Production Manager immediately.
- Help track daily records of machine line downtime (including duration, the machine involved, and reasons for the downtime). If downtime exceeds 5 minutes, promptly notify the Production Manager via radio.
- Tag all work-in-progress (WIP) items at the end of the shift as necessary and communicate end-of-shift numbers to the Production Manager.
- Encourage all team members to adhere to proper personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, ensuring eye, hand, and foot protection is utilized at each station or machine center.
- Report any employee-related issues (behavioral, work ethics, etc.) to the Production Manager. You are not expected to intervene unless there is an immediate safety concern.
- Offer insights into team member strengths and weaknesses to aid in evaluating personnel for potential increased responsibilities on various machine centers.
Other possible duties:
- Conduct a weekly inventory of consumables and spare parts for machine lines and provide a report to the Production Manager at the end of each shift. Alert the Production Manager immediately if supplies are running low.
- Uphold plant hygiene standards by maintaining cleanliness regarding debris, floors, waste disposal, and the organization of work-in-progress and raw materials.
Requirements for this position include but are not limited to:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in a similar environment.
- Ability to stand for 10 or more hours a day.
- Capability to lift weights of up to 70 lbs.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
