About the Job
The position is responsible for the management and operation of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and the Case Management Programs, including Clinical Supervisors, Nursing staff, Social Workers, Social Work Assistants, and Mental Health Workers, in meeting the program goals and objectives. The Program Administrator collaborates with the Assistant Vice President, Clinical Services, in ensuring compliance with all regulatory agency standards and the ACT and Case Management Grants.
Responsibilities:1. Describe responsibility:
Administrates the day-to-day operations of the ACT and Case Management Programs in providing direct services to mentally disabled clients.
2. Describe responsibility:
Provides direction to the Clinical Supervisors in overseeing the care provided by the Case Managers in the ACT and Case Management Programs.
3. Describe responsibility:
Collaborates with the ACT and Case Management supervisory staff in developing comprehensive case management treatment plans and monitors documentation to ensure regulatory agency standards compliance, including the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the New York State Office of Mental Health and JCAHO.
4. Describe responsibility:
Participates in the departmental Performance Improvement activities and provides statistical reports as indicated.
5. Describe responsibility:
Assists in the recruitment, evaluation, and termination of staff in collaboration with the AVP, Clinical Services, and the Human Resources Department.
6. Describe responsibility:
Collaborates with the Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) Team in ensuring follow-up of
court-mandated treatment.
7. Describe responsibility:
Collaborates with the Director, Social Work, and the Associate Director, Psychiatric Social Work, in the educational program for ACT and Case Management staff, Social Work students, and Psychiatry Residents regarding the case management process.
8. Describe responsibility:
Attends and participates in hospital and OMH committees as indicated.
9. Describe responsibility:
Provides crisis intervention as needed.
10. Describe responsibility:
Performs other activities as deemed appropriate in assuring services to clients and the functioning of the ACT and Case Management program.
-Five (5) years clinical experience in providing direct services in a mental health setting.
- Two (2) years supervisory experience in a mental health outpatient or inpatient setting, preferably including case management.
- Current NY State Licensure and Certification in Social Work or Nursing (Legally Required) (Policy Requirement)
- Masters in Social Work or Nursing (Required)
- Clinical skills as a Social Worker or Registered Professional Nurse in an outpatient or inpatient mental health setting. (Required)
- Spanish speaking (Preferred)
- General computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Preferred)
