Overall, The Program Specialist is a leadership/administrative position responsible for supporting The Arc's mission: to embody and protect the human rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and practices person-centered planning which actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes. The Program Specialist is in charge and responsible for the overall operation of assigned locations.
This employee is responsible for the tracking, coordination, and accurate completion of assessments and Individual Support Plans (ISPs). This person will monitor residential community homes and ensures ongoing compliance with Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) and The Arc's policy and procedure. This employee will also ensure that programs are operating within budget and that prospective staff members are suited to the needs of the program, and that staff are appropriately trained and directed in their work. The overall goal of the Program Specialist is to enhance the quality of life of individuals residing in programs operated by The Arc.

Qualifications include:
A Master's Degree or above from an accredited college or university and one (1) year work experience working directly with persons with an intellectual disability. OR A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years work experience working directly with persons with an intellectual disability. OR An Associates' Degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years work experience working directly with persons with an intellectual disability.
