Project Accountant - Davis & Floyd Inc

Davis & Floyd is looking for a highly motivated Project Accountant to join us in our Greenwood, South Carolina Office! The successful candidate must be a hard worker, team player, and be able to effectively communicate information to co-workers as well as clients. This position requires the ability to work in a strong team environment of highly motivated professionals for a family owned and oriented company that prides itself on integrity and quality.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Set up projects in BST accounting software
• Coordinate with Project Managers to obtain client contracts
• Ensure that signed contracts are received, properly filed
• Update projects for any fee budget changes based on contract changes and modifications
• Prepare and track the process of monthly client billings
• Develop client-specific reporting required per contract
• Ensure contract terms are followed regarding billing and schedules
• Maintain project budget and review financial results on a timely basis
• Identify and communicate monthly variances for revenue earnings
• Utilize effective listening skills to understand project requests and implement creative solutions to support project requests and identify and communicate problems to Management and Project Managers
• Available for cross-training of various accounting tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration is preferred
• General project accounting and project management experience preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team collaboration attitude with ability to work independently
• Excellent time-management and organization skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
