Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Architect III to join our Cary, NC office!
This Project Architect III will participate in the conceptual design of a project and provides full support through every phase of an architectural project. Serves as a SME (subject matter expert) on specialized systems, or in specific practice group aspects, or some other unique aspect or area of design, materials, assemblies, code application, etc. Liaises with Project Management, other architects/ architectural designers, and consultants. Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects. Coordinates with Project Architects/Project Managers on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.
Responsibilities:- Plans and develops medium-to-large projects with many complexities under minimal supervision.
- Coordinates project teams throughout all design phases.
- Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments.
- Works closely with Principals and Project Leaders to prepare and develop technical documents across a range of project types, and scale.
- Develops solutions to design assignments and technical problems.
- Leads technical coordination of project drawings and documents with all internal team members and design subconsultants.
- Participates in drawing QA/QC efforts and provide feedback to junior staff on best practices.
- Demonstrates an ability to work on multiple projects while meeting budget and schedule constraints.
- Leads initiatives and activities that strengthen the firm’s culture, knowledge base, and capabilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by a Project Manager or senior team members.
- Candidate shall have a professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution, a licensed architect, plus at least eight years of related experience.
- 8 or more years’ experience.
- Licensed architectural staff.
- Highly proficient in REVIT, AutoCad Architecture version 2022, have the ability to annotate plans and details.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Procore, and CMAP scheduling, job costing, accounting, and invoicing functions.
- Maintains existing architectural licensure through completion of LUs as required.
- Actively seeking LEED accreditation and obtain membership/ participation in industry-focused events.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
