Position Summary | The HSC Facilities Office within HSC Finance andAdministration provides oversight and directs a wide variety of constructionprojects from a simple office move, to a laboratory renovation withstate-of-the-art equipment, to the construction of a new building. The UNMHealth Sciences is comprised of the following areas: UNM Health System, Schoolof Medicine, UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center, Project Echo, College of Nursing,College of Pharmacy, College of Population Health, and Office of Research. The Project/Construction Manager would oversee and assist inprojects for UNM Health Sciences areas. The Project/Construction Managerposition requires organizational knowledge and skills as well as anunderstanding of construction and engineering process to be successful in thisposition. This position will be responsible for assigned portions of capitalprojects to advance the mission of the UNM Health Sciences Center, and engagecollaboratively as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with stakeholders acrossmultiple groups and organizations, including University Hospital, UNM HealthSciences Center, UNM, and external consultants. The position will independentlymanage assigned capital projects or capital program tasks, to ensure that theproject and program goals are met within the prescribed time frames and fundingtargets. |

Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 8 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
Preferred Qualifications | Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering, Architecture,Construction Management, or Project Management Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, MS Project General construction knowledge Ability to approve installations Ability to select,evaluate, coordinate, and identify quality control concerns related toprofessional consultants Knowledge and understanding of construction documents andspecifications Familiarity with Smartsheet Good customer serviceskills, ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organization Good communication skills, both verbal and written General knowledge of state procurement processes Experience working in an academic healthcare setting |
