Position Overview:
The Project Controls Manager plays a pivotal leadership role within the Concrete Division, responsible for overseeing project controls, cost management, scheduling, risk analysis, document controls processes, and compliance functions. This position requires a strategic thinker with a robust understanding of project management principles, who can drive project success through effective controls, team collaboration, and adherence to compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the project controls team, setting objectives and ensuring alignment with overall project and company goals.
• Develop and implement comprehensive project controls strategies and systems for tracking project performance, costs, schedules, and compliance with industry standards.
• Oversee the management of document controls processes, ensuring accurate and timely documentation, filing, and retrieval of all project-related documents.
• Perform key compliance functions, ensuring projects adhere to industry regulations, company standards, and contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with project management and finance teams to establish budgets, monitor expenditures, and manage project funding.
• Guide the scheduling of projects, ensuring timelines are realistic, achievable, and compliant with contractual deadlines.
• Conduct risk management activities, identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies.
• Generate detailed reports on project status, including cost forecasts, schedule updates, compliance audits, and risk assessments for senior management.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project controls function, leveraging best practices and innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.
• Provide leadership and development opportunities to project controls team members, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls management within the construction or related industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• Demonstrated proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Timberline, Primavera, CMiC, etc.) and MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Superior communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with all levels of management, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 20%) for project oversight and team collaboration.

Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled.  Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.  May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations.  Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud.  Overtime will be required. Travel will be required.
