What the Role Is
The Project Engineer is responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle from bidding to planning, logistics, execution, and closing of all field work. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The ideal person for this role will be patient, organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Logistics
- Coordinate logistics and scheduling of all jobs and projects, including the assignment of technicians, Team Leads, and Supervisors.
- Manage the timely pickup of all parts and materials, as well as the coordination of rental equipment necessary for each project.
- Project Bidding
- Build out estimates with complete and accurate pricing for materials and labor, ensuring that all cost factors are accounted for.
- Develop a comprehensive scope of work, including timelines and project phases, to guide the successful execution of each project.
- Project Planning
- Build and manage projects in our project management software system, ensuring that all project details are accurately entered and tracked.
- Confirm and map out project timelines and phases, building out jobs and appointments within the system.
- Assign technicians and schedule jobs and appointments, ensuring that all team members are informed and prepared.
- Order and coordinate the delivery or pickup of parts, materials, and rental equipment, ensuring everything is staged and ready for project execution.
- Coordinate the disposal of materials or equipment as needed.
- Project Execution
- Ensure the safety of all employees throughout the project or job, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Monitor progress to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the project, ensuring that all client expectations are met or exceeded.
- Project Closing
- Complete all job costing, including tracking and documenting COGS (POs/Bills/Receipts) and Direct Labor (Timesheets).
- Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams, vendors, and field service technicians, ensuring clear, consistent, and transparent communication across all project phases.
Benefits
- The base pay for this position ranges from $70,000 to $85,000
