Position Summary: The Service Engineer primary function is to travel to customer's site to fix malfunctioning equipment. This position involves extensive travel
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Travel approximately 45% (United States, Mexico, Canada, and Europe) Assist in the upgrade of obsolete control systems (PLC, motion control, graphics)
- Fix malfunctioning equipment
- Robot path programming
- Optimization of paint parameters
- Assist in the launch of new equipment
- Execute Aftermarket Service projects including system inspections, planned service and repairs and emergency service and repairs.
- Write inspection and service reports with a focus on recommended actions and further repairs required to promote further Aftermarket business.
- In the case of emergency service, this position requires trouble shooting mechanical, electrical and PLC portions of a complete environmental system and assisting customer in getting the system back online.
- Represent Dürr in a professional manner with a focus on customer satisfaction and promoting repeat business.
- Exercise independent judgement to determine both how to carry out Field Service Assignments and sometimes to augment Field Service Assignments to best service the customer.
- Provide emergency phone support to customers per the schedule of the emergency call log.
- Provide commissioning for projects and products

Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Associates Degree in Technical Field, Military Experience in Systems Maintenance or Union Apprenticeship Program for Electricians preferred
- 5 or more years of position related experience
- Strong foundation in electrical debugging
- Working knowledge of PLCs (e.g. Allen Bradley)
- Able to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus
- Fabrication and toolmaking experience prefered.

Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit, kneel, crawl; and use hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision. Employee must be able to fly and drive. Employee must be able to climb stairs and ladders, wearing appropriate fall protection as needed. Incumbent is required to work with and near equipment such as industrial fans, pumps, etc. in a manufacturing setting. They must also be able to operate motorized equipment such as a scissor lift or man lift.
