Position Description:
The Project Lead is responsible for successfully managing the activities associated with the construction and the installation of our architectural metal projects.
Candidate must have proven past experience in managing miscellaneous, decorative metal fabrication and installation of such projects. Please do not reply to this ad if you have no past experience in fabrication or installation in construction steel work for the building industry. This is not an office desk position.
Position Duties:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include but not Limited to:
- Responsible for overseeing and directing the architectural metals portion of our projects being constructed, mainly staircases and railings for the projects.
- Responsible for reviewing the project in-depth to schedule and oversee the fabrication and installation of our work.
- Responsible for coordinating field workers.
- Responsible for coordinating materials and equipment for installation.
- Responsible for reading, understanding and communicating structural, architectural and shop drawings with others.
- Responsible for project field measurements and verification of such measurements.
- Manage project changes, document submittals, and RFI’s.
- Proficiency in the use of computers for: Excel spreadsheets, E-mail and Internet.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Proven past working experience in miscellaneous and decorative metals for the construction of buildings.
- Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
- Knowledge of building codes and standards of misc. metals, stairs & railings.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, general contractors, shop & field team members.
- Ability to meet quality, safety and productivity requirements.
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year as Project Lead in the field of metal work for construction of buildings.
- Must be able to travel in the Central United States on occasion.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position works in both an office setting and in the field on our job sites. While working in the field you will be exposed to moderately loud noises, working in and around moving equipment, at varying heights and possible hazardous construction site conditions.
