Project Manager-Architecture - Colliers Engineering & Design

Colliers Engineering & Design is searching for licensed architects to join our growing team as a Project Manager in our Atlanta, GA office.

Our architects offer a full range of services from preliminary planning and feasibility studies through final design and construction inspection for both full build-out projects and renovations/re-purposing. We have developed a rich portfolio of award winning work across a number of markets. Our architects work closely as trusted partners with our clients throughout the design process to realize a jointly conceived vision. We have built an in-house, multi-disciplinary team of architects, interior designers, engineers and planners who skillfully balance design constraints and design opportunities. • Prepare effective work plans and man-hour budgets for approval by Department Manager.
• Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy the client as well as control work and productivity.
• Prepare advanced engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
• Responsible for the quality control/quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
• Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
• Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
• Participates in formulating and coordinating proposals and provides other Marketing support, including Business Development.
• Identify the project team, work packages and tasks, evaluation methods, productivity targets, schedule of deliverables and man power needed on projects.
• Hold team meetings ensuring procedures governing review and approval of projects are followed prior to submission of completed work.
• Negotiate with clients on any scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules subject to supervisors’ approval.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with all employees involved in the project to ensure high utilization rates (i.e. Project team meetings).
• Review monthly man-hour and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the pre-determined goal.
• Ensure everyone involved is working in accordance with all project planning and profit control procedures.
• Ensure that all scope revisions affecting the project schedule and/or budget are discussed with the client. Ensure that all out-of-scope work and associated fees are approved by the client prior to performing the services.
• Solicit help and involvement from Department Managers and any other managers to troubleshoot any technical problems.
• Works efficiently with the Billing Department to authorize and transmit bills to client. Follows up with clients for timely payments.
• Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices, and enhancing corporate objectives.
• Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.

• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Architecture or equivalent work experience as required to maintain licensed architect status.
• 8 or more years of relevant experience.
• Previous use and understanding of AutoCAD and Revit design software with the ability to produce preliminary and schematic designs in AutoCAD at a minimum, but Revit is desired. 
• Strong communication skills required.
• Willingness to mentor team members on technical and professional skills.
• Previous business development and project management experience preferred in planning and executing design/construction projects.
• Ability to work in close collaboration with other managers and leadership, clients, in-house and outside consultants.
• Client facing experience.
• Ability to work primarily independently.
• Willing to travel occasionally to client sites and meetings.
