Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development:
- Lead the development of new diesel power generation products, ensuring they meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and sales teams to design, develop, and launch new products that align with company goals.
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs, emerging trends, and opportunities for product innovation.
- Define product specifications, features, and benefits in alignment with customer needs and market demands.
- Product Lifecycle Management:
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through development, launch, and post-launch analysis.
- Develop and maintain detailed product roadmaps, timelines, and milestones to ensure timely delivery of new products.
- Monitor and manage product performance, making adjustments as necessary to meet market demands and customer expectations.
- Market Analysis & Strategy:
- Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to identify new product opportunities and improve existing products.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, pricing, and promotion.
- Stay informed about industry developments, new technologies, and advancements in diesel power generation.
- Dealer & Customer Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major dealers, such as CAT, Cummins, Kohler, Generac, and others, to ensure product alignment with market needs.
- Engage with key customers to gather feedback, understand their needs, and ensure product offerings meet or exceed their expectations.
- Provide training and support to sales teams and dealers to ensure they have the knowledge and tools necessary to successfully market and sell new products.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure products are designed and manufactured to meet specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to manage production schedules, inventory levels, and cost targets.
- Partner with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute product launch plans that drive market adoption and sales growth.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on product development progress, market trends, and product performance for senior management review.
- Maintain detailed documentation of product specifications, development processes, and market research.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is required; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with a focus on diesel power generation equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of major diesel generator brands such as CAT, Cummins, Kohler, Generac, and others is essential.
- Skills:
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong understanding of market analysis and product strategy.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in using product management tools, CRM software, and other related technology.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred but not required.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with dealers, customers, and attend industry events.
- Comfortable working in both office settings and industrial environments where diesel power generation equipment is in use.
