We are looking for a Project Manager who works independently, supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets for projects, facilitates project tasks with various functional organizations, forecast project revenues, tracks cost/progress, identifies project problems, and recommends solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of large portfolio of projects following project processes and where applicable provide direction to assisting field engineer techs
- Understand and complete projects per the contractual requirements as sold, within budget, on time, and with a high level of customer satisfaction
- Responsible for the overall financial performance of assigned projects including project planning, billing, revenue forecasting, A/R collection support, and re-estimating costs of installation projects
- Work with sales team on job opportunity cost reviews and scope when requested when available
- Manage the delivery of the contracted scope and assist with change orders for the expansion of scope
- Coordinate project materials and the use of shared resources; identify resource constraints and assist with corrective action plans to remedy any issues
- Manage relationships with sub-contractors, customer, identifying issues that may arise, take corrective action along with discuss with appropriate management on ways to remedy any issues
Essential Functions
Financial:
- Perform "actual vs. estimated" analyses and identify variances, reasons for variances, and mitigation steps
- Maintain budget or reduce cost, maintaining client satisfaction
- Maintain positive cash flow through approved SOV, follow up on billings
Project Scheduling:
- Plan manpower and know when resources are required on the project.
- Create a working schedule and proactively plan and protect our contractual timelines
Subcontractor Management:
- Schedule continuous site visits to quality check our subcontractor.
- Be able to provide installation and schedule direction
- Document all installation/schedule issues with subcontractor
Communication and Documentation:
- Provide necessary documentation and communication to all customer levels and sub-contractors and/or ensure that the appropriate members of the project team do so.
- Professionally represent Carrier in meetings and always be proactive in defending the company's best interest
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Self-starter, able to organize and plan your work schedule.
- Work well in a team environment
- Strong problem solving, planning and project management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, Access.
- Leading small project teams 4-10 people
- Reading and understanding specifications and scope of work
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices
- Project financial reporting
- Prior commercial experience in Mechanical construction, HVAC installs and systems and/or Building Automation Controls systems
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years' Commercial HVAC experience in the field on HVAC systems and installs and systems and/or Building Automations Controls industry.
- Must be able to travel within the Georgia area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree
- 5+ years' work experience in Construction, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Electronics, IT
Additional information:
- Valid Driver's License is required
- Traveling will be required up to 50% within the Georgia area
