Job/Position Description100% REMOTE WORK AVAILABLE and#150; For individuals permanently residing in Texas.Under the supervision of the CFO-Procurements and Contracts manager, the Project Manager IV will perform highly advanced project management work and provide support to multiple departments within the CFO division. This position works under limited supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Responsibilities include reviewing legislative mandates to determine the potential project needs, estimated costs, projections, possible procurement needs, and impact to the CFO division. This position will manage and coordinate the planning and initiation of CFO division projects at various levels of completion, monitoring the progress and schedule of projects, and communicating with project stakeholders, management, CFO leadership, oversight agencies, and other relevant parties. The Project Manager IV responsibilities will include assuring projects are delivered on time; within budget; utilizing accepted project management methodologies; and establishing and evaluating project deliverables. At the direction of CFO leadership, may work on special projects as CFO division needs arise. May direct, assign, and evaluate the work of project staff.Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with HHSC leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.1. (30%) and#150; Provides leadership and expertise in project management. Serves as a resource for the CFO Division for projects that may involve technology, legislative mandates, process improvements, agency initiatives, and developing processes and procedures. Project management involves the full spectrum of industry-accepted principles of project management including initiation, planning, execution, control, and closing assigned projects and subsidiary components. Activities for this position include, but are not limited to, defining and managing scope, gathering requirements, managing customer expectations; developing work breakdown structures; providing detailed Microsoft project schedules; creating resource plans; developing project plans, communication plans; and budgets and cost tracking. This role will be responsible for developing presentations and briefings; providing metrics; identifying risks and potential issues; determining mitigations strategies; quality control; change management processes; lessons learned; obtaining customer acceptance; and archiving project documentation. Coordinates various levels of projects, oversees the planning and initiation of project deliverables, including cost estimates and projections. Directs, develops, and evaluates projects utilizing accepted project management methodologies. Directs, assigns, and evaluates the work of project staff. May represent the CFO Division with external stakeholders such as other agencies, universities, and vendors.2. (25%) and#150; Monitors and manages projects to completion. Compiles and distributes project information, status reports, and project budget expenditures. Manages project cost to ensure project completion within budget. Monitors and manages project quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications. Ensures collaboration with key functional stakeholders in the implementation of initiatives. Obtains authorization and commitment and demonstrates business need and project feasibility.
