About the Role: Are you an experienced Project Manager with a passion for overseeing complex substation design projects? Join our dynamic team in Kansas City, where you'll lead critical projects that power communities and industries. This role offers the opportunity to manage all aspects of substation projects, from inception to successful completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Project Leadership: Take ownership of substation projects, managing everything from defining project scope and goals to delivering on-time and within budget.
- Milestone Management: Identify key milestones, develop detailed timelines, and track progress to ensure projects stay on course.
- Cost and Schedule Control: Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control costs to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.
- Vendor and Pricing Management: Obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and manage costs to keep projects within budget.
- Comprehensive Communication: Serve as the central point of contact for all project-related communication, ensuring clarity and alignment across all stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Project Team to ensure all deliverables meet client expectations and adhere to internal QA/QC guidelines.
- Reporting and Risk Management: Provide regular updates on project progress, including cost and schedule metrics, and proactively address any issues or risks.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, Associate’s degree with 7+ years of experience, or 9+ years of relevant experience in substation projects.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in the physical design of electrical substations ranging from 15KV to 500KV.
- Project Management Proficiency: Experience utilizing Critical Path Method (CPM) for effective project scheduling and management.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with Substations: Candidates with backgrounds as Substation Engineers, Structural Engineers, Electrical Designers/Detailers, Electrical Linemen, Inside Sales, or Drafters are encouraged to apply.
