We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to ensure the effective management and operation of the Network Management Control Center (NMCC). This role is critical in maintaining seamless communications and IT services, including voice, video, wireless networks, and secure connections across various government offices, embassies, and external networks. The Project Manager will be responsible for implementing strategies, managing support teams, collaborating with government personnel, and ensuring all service and compliance requirements are met. The role requires adherence to ITIL and PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) processes, with a focus on maintaining network reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the operations of the Network Management Control Center (NMCC) to ensure consistent, secure, and reliable network services.
- Lead and implement operational strategies that align with government standards and processes, including ITIL frameworks and PMI's PMP methodologies.
- Manage and mentor a team of network and IT professionals, providing support and ensuring optimal performance in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Collaborate with government personnel to assess network requirements, address challenges, and ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain critical communication infrastructure, ensuring the reliability of voice, video, wireless networks, and secure connections.
- Monitor and manage network performance, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions to prevent disruptions.
- Utilize standardized tools and procedures to track project progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of all requirements.
- Create and deliver detailed project plans, reports, and updates for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to ITIL v3 processes to maintain efficient network service management.
- Use PMI's PMP processes to manage project scope, schedule, resources, and quality.
- Facilitate ongoing communication between the NMCC team and key government stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals and expectations.
Requirements:
- 8-10 years of Project Management experience.
- 5+ years of direct project management experience, in a 24/7 IT or network operations environment.
- 3+ years of experience with ITIL and PMP processes, with proven expertise in applying ITIL best practices and PMI's PMP methodologies in managing IT or network-related projects.
- ITIL v3 Certification - Extensive experience in applying ITIL v3 best practices to optimize IT service management.
- PMP Certification - Knowledge and application of PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) processes to manage projects effectively.
- Proficiency in standard PC software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects in a 24/7 work environment.
- Proven track record of successfully leading teams in high-pressure environments, delivering consistent results.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly with government personnel and technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing secure communications infrastructure and government IT networks.
- Familiarity with government regulations and standards for network security and communications.
Physical and Mental Qualifications:
- Be able to maintain awareness during scheduled working hours.
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at desk and working on a computer (mouse and keyboard)
- Able to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; good command of the English language
