About the Job
Position Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for managing assigned projects and technicians in the Service Department. The person in this position works with both staff, customers and vendors to develop, organize and implement tasks relating to specific projects and functions as the person responsible for the term of the project.
Reporting Relationship: The Project Manager reports to the VP Operations and Service
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Effectively interacts with members of Service, Standby and support teams to ensure reasonable time-frames for quoting, completing projects, and customer satisfaction.
- Establishes and leads Installation team members performance and development goals that align with the organization's business goals
- Supervises service technicians and installers
- Works directly with customer to understand scope of each project
- Works in conjunction with Salesperson to execute job walks, prepare quotes, and provide application engineering support as needed
- Prepares MOP's (Methods of Procedure) for all required jobs
- Initiates pre-job meetings, performs regular quality inspections, and finalizes job with customer through post job walkthrough
- Orders materials required for project in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensures project is completed on time and on budget
- Acts as safety liaison between field and office through identifying safety trends and preventing safety hazards; timely completes documentation for work-related injuries and incidents
- Continually remains updated on all industry standards, ensuring all specifications are met and acting to implement new standards of performance if necessary
- Documents any changes to bid spec/quote and proactively obtain necessary signatures prior to any processed change orders
- Develops strong line of communication with management and within all departments utilizing service
- Perform other duties and assignments as necessary
Requirements:
Skills/Knowledge
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of DC power equipment, specifically in telecommunications, switchgear & control and UPS industries
- Strong technical and spatial reasoning abilities
- Compliance with all company and industry standard safety and technical certifications and requirements
- Ability to utilize and train on the company expense and time-reporting systems

Travel Expectations:
- Up to 75% depending on customer needs
Posting Qualifications:
- Associates degree or 4-year college degree preferred
- 5+ years industry experience preferred
- Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
