The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. About the Role:
The Prospect Research Manager is integral to the Development department, overseeing prospect research initiatives and operations. This position is responsible for maintaining prospect data and reporting on portfolio performance and the moves management program. This individual will conduct comprehensive research on existing donors, analyze giving data to identify new prospects for the development team and Executive Leadership Team, manage portfolio assignments for fundraisers, and support the moves/actions program. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, be organized, self-motivated, and adept at problem-solving. This role is a member of our Development division and reports to the Senior Manager, Development Operations and Analytics.
What You’ll Do:
Research
Conduct proactive and reactive research to identify new prospects.

Identify and evaluate philanthropic capacity, propensity, giving likelihood and interest.

Perform wealth estimations and assign ratings based on publicly available information, including insider holdings, real estate, salary estimates and general demographic assessments.

Map relationships for organizations and individuals to foster cross-departmental connections.

Review and identify prospects for various fundraising projects, including capital campaigns and planned giving initiatives.

Update and maintain modeling data and scores in Raiser’s Edge NXT, integrating findings into reports and projects for enhanced prospecting insights.
Project Management

Oversee the formal discovery process by identifying high-capacity prospects for Individual Major Giving Officer portfolios ensuring effective assignment, tracking, and qualification of prospects in collaboration with fundraisers.

Assign, build and rebalance portfolios in collaboration with department directors and frontline fundraisers.

Provide targeted discovery reporting, monitoring key metrics to ensure timely qualification and movement of prospects through the pipeline.

Collaborate with fundraisers to prioritize portfolio prospects and pipeline effectively.

Manage research, portfolio, action, and reporting project requests.

Maintain online reference accounts and review various publications for updates on donors and prospects, sharing insights with fundraising team.

Evaluate prospect research software and recommend tools to align with the Food Bank’s prospecting needs.

Work with on-site IT department and product support to resolve system integration issues and ensure timely updates to the prospect program.
Data Management and Reporting

Interpret biographical, relationship and complex financial information on individuals, corporations and foundations and develop basic and in-depth profiles.

Develop, document, and manage procedures that maintain standards of quality, accuracy, and timelines for prospect research and moves management.

Manage system for tracking conducted prospect research profiles and portfolio moves in database.

Build and maintain portfolio and action dashboards for monitoring progress and effectiveness.

Assist Donor Services & Analytics Team in maintaining the integrity of the database.

Map, activate, and manage Action workflows within Raiser’s Edge NXT, tailoring them to individual fundraisers’ needs.

Develop and generate prospecting and moves management reports to support planning, decision-making, and measure outcomes.

Perform data syncs, imports, global changes, and exports in accordance with business standards.
