Overview:Assist the CSPI in accepting emergent telephone calls relating to known or suspected poisonings. Per operational guidelines, advise on treatment or triage case assessment to CSPI for definitive care. Participate in data collection efforts and public education programs.Qualifications:Required Education:GED or High School Diploma. Specific course work: Health oriented background. Able to interpret information resources and transmit that information understandably to both health professionals and the public.Preferred Education:EMT, LPN, C.N.A., pharmacy tech, nursing student or pharmacy studentRequired Licensure/Certifications:N/APreferred Licensure/Certifications:N/ARequired Experience:N/APreferred Experience:N/ANecessary Skills:1. Must be familiar with basic aspects of pharmacology, toxicology, and clinical patient management. 2. Possess good organizational skills, be familiar with computer data entry and retrieval. 3. Must be able to assess severity of exposures and placate victims and families. 4. Must be able to educate, prioritize, triage and communicate effectively with general public and health care professionals.Age of Patients Served:All Age Groups
