Job Description: | The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida (UF), College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida, is seeking an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor for our outpatient practice in Student Health Psychiatry at the Student Health Care Center. The position is a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenured multi-mission track faculty position. It will be at the forefront of providing comprehensive psychiatric care and consultation services to UF students facing diverse mental health challenges, including general mental health disorders, multicultural concerns, trauma, eating disorders, substance abuse, and gender/sexual minority issues. The candidate’s impact will extend beyond direct student care as collaboration with various campus entities is integral to our mission to help every student achieve optimal health in the pursuit of personal and academic success. As a faculty member in the College of Medicine, the candidate will also contribute to its educational mission by participating in graduate and/or medical education, particularly teaching adult fellows, general psychiatry residents, and medical students during rotations and seminar teaching. Finally, the successful candidate must be willing to engage in service at the level of the department, college, and larger profession. All student health psychiatry faculty share the after-hours call duties for the Student Health Care Center. Student Health Psychiatry-Student Care Center Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida are engaged in groundbreaking projects covering a variety of interests through our Centers, labs, and collaborations with other departments. The Department of Psychiatry includes an extensive outpatient center with various specialty clinics within (including one associated with our Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment), a very active inpatient service, a psychiatry collaborative program for primary care practitioners, a school consultation program, and community consultation services. The Department of Psychiatry spans services across adult, addiction, and child/adolescent specializations, including a freestanding psychiatric hospital, a large consult liaison service at the main UF Shands Hospital, Student Health Psychiatry-Student Care Center, the Florida Recovery Center operated by our Addiction Division, and multiple research centers including the Center for Addiction Research & Education and the Center for OCD and Related Disorders (COARD) and. UF is also an active site for the NIH-landmark Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study.
