Public Health Data Analyst - PCI Government Services

About the Job
PCI Government Services (PCI-GS) in support of our client at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC), is seeking a qualified candidate to work with public health leaders and multidisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for leveraging public health data to produce actionable insights.
Responsibilities:Specific job duties include (but not limited to) the following:
• Analyze data from internal and external sources to drive the development of scientific manuscripts, data visualizations, and evidence-based policies.
• Perform data source quality assurance and quality control protocols.
• Code and develop data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
• Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or additional FOUR (4) years related experience.
• Minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in a professional or academic setting.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on model and product development.
• Experience using statistical computer languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
• Knowledge of Power Platforms (e.g., Power BI, Power Automate) and other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, D3)
• Experience working with data architectures and processing raw datasets.
• Knowledge of a variety of statistical and mathematical modeling techniques (e.g., regression, SIR models, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
• A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
Software/Tools:
• Knowledge and experience in statistical techniques: GLM/Regression, epidemiological models, descriptive statistics
• Coding knowledge and experience with several languages: Python, R, SAS, SQL
• Data Visualization experience with several tools: Power BI, Tableau, D3
Preferred:
• Experience applying technical skills to public health systems is a plus.
• Experience with data and code management best practices is a plus: Azure, GitHub, AWS, SQL Server Management Studio, etc.
