Position: Purchasing Agent
FLSA: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Location: 2252 N. Broadway
Moore, Oklahoma 73160
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm (1 hour lunch)
General Purpose: To compile information and records to prepare purchase orders.
Supervision Received: Works under the Architecture & Purchasing Manager.
Supervision Exercised: NONE
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for verifying purchase order (P.O.) requests.
- Compiles records for items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries and inventories.
- Computes total cost of items purchased.
- Compares prices, specifications, and deliver dates.
- Verifies bill from suppliers with bids and purchase orders.
- Enters all new products and prices into database.
- Complies new database files for new products.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedules.
- Ensures accuracy and efficiency; consult catalogs or contact vendors to obtain price availability information.
- Occasionally compose documents & letters and any other clerical duties.
- Responsible for keeping office area clean
- Attend all staff meetings
- Maintain confidentiality of office practices
- Present recommendations to Manager.
- Assists in other duties as directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1+ year work related experience preferably in the home building/construction industry.
- High school diploma (or GED)
- College degree is a plus
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Must have reliable transportation

Work Environment: Temperature controlled office environment. The noise level is moderately quiet.
Physical Demands: Often requires sitting for up to 8 hours per day and repetitive use of fingers for typing. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and to stoop or kneel. Must be able to carry equipment up to 30 lbs. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Tool and Equipment: Windows PC, telephone, printer/copier/fax, and other general office equipment.
