As a Purchasing Agent , you will be responsible for buying products, services, and raw materials for Proformance Builder Solutions. This role will be critical in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of equipment and materials, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and cost-effectively. This position requires strong negotiation skills, technical knowledge of roofing and construction, technologies, and an understanding of supply chain management.
JOB SUMMARY:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of roofing and non-roofing equipment and related materials. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain. Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards. This position will focus on new products, company projects, and solutions implemented by Proformance Roofing and materials supply.
Cost Management:
- Issue purchase orders (PO) to vendors to secure materials for jobs and to secure inventory.
- Analyze and manage the cost structure of roofing projects, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and optimization.
- Manage pricing issues on invoices and work with vendors to resolve disputes.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors.
- Communicate with branch manager, supervisor, PM’s, contractors, and vendors as required to ensure PO terms are met.
- Collaborate with the above-mentioned to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive purchasing plans. Source materials, equipment, and services necessary for construction projects, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Develop and maintain a purchasing budget for each project. Monitor and control expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchases, pricing agreements, sub-contractor, and supplier information. Generate reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and rebates, and look for potential risks.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks during the procurement process. Implement appropriate strategies and procedures to minimize potential delays, budget overruns, or quality issues.
- The above tasks are the focus of the job, but it does not limit the employee to performing other duties related to the purchasing and supply chain area.
Quality Assurance:
- Understands pricing and pricing structures.
- Ensure that all procured materials meet or exceed quality and performance standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, products, and technologies related to residential construction purchasing. Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Implement quality control measures and protocols for incoming materials and equipment.
- Resolve any quality issues with suppliers and work to continuously improve product quality.
- Ensure adequate purchasing controls are in place.
- Maintain proper document retention.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- 4+ years of experience in Procurement and supply chain management
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management
- Experience and knowledge creating workflows and processes
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge in accounting, construction or related discipline is preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft office
Pay:
$27-$30 per hour
