Job Title: Entry-Level Purchasing Assistant
Company Overview: Vaco is seeking an entry-level Purchasing Assistant to deliver exceptional customer service to our client's strategic vendors. This role does not require specific experience or a particular degree, but we are looking for candidates with a positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
Position Overview: The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for maintaining relationships with suppliers, vendors, and wholesalers, placing orders based on current inventory needs, and tracking shipments. This position requires strong client service skills to collaborate effectively with various departments, support managers, and liaise with vendors.
Location:
This is a full-time, onsite position in Norcross, GA, with working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM (or similar). The targeted compensation for this role ranges from $40,000 to $50,000, depending on experience, and includes a generous benefits package, paid time off, and paid holidays, providing an opportunity for long-term career growth.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Purchasing Manager in the day-to-day operations of the purchasing department by performing various administrative and service-related tasks.
- Maintain and foster positive working relationships with vendors.
- Review vendor agreements and perform data entry to track performance metrics to assist in contract renegotiations.
- Organize purchase orders, print shipping labels, manage shipping schedules, and maintain accurate purchase records.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to verify deliveries against purchase orders and identify discrepancies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least one year of experience in a customer-facing role (experience gained during high school or through volunteer activities is acceptable).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
- Familiarity with purchasing software is a plus.
- Candidates should be in close proximity to our client's office in Peachtree Corners, GA.
