About the Job
The purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, goods, and services necessary for our telecommunications operations. The Purchasing Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that our supply chain runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and forecast purchasing needs based on inventory levels, production schedules, and project timelines.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong relationships to ensure the best pricing and terms for materials and services.
- Create and manage purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with company standards and requirements.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by using inventory management software and tools to track stock levels, consumption rates, and reorder points.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
- Analyze purchasing data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes.
- Assist in developing and managing the purchasing budget.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Participate in supply chain meetings and contribute insights to improve overall supply chain efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all purchasing activities.
- Prepare reports and analyses related to purchasing activities, supplier performance, and inventory levels for management review
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficient in using purchasing and inventory management software (experience with ERP systems is a plus).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
