About the Job
Essential Functions
- Support the strategic direction of the shop and field organization and the division.
- Demonstrate leadership, integrity, teamwork, quality and urgency in the performance of one’s functions and responsibilities to ensure the goals of customer satisfaction, market dominance and profitability are achieved.
- Respond to client or customer requests for service in a timely manner.
- Interact with the Engineering group to source required technical information.
- Interact with other shop departments, and/or field department, for executing and supporting projects.
- Day-to-day inspections and quality control of multiple shop/field projects including NDT/UT/MT testing.
- Involved in safety, project documentation, inspection report generation, capital equipment suggestions and customer interaction with ongoing projects.
- Travel to customer locations
Additional Functions
- Conduct field machine audits.
- Participate in the Continuous Improvement process, making sure new ideas are generated, worked and implemented and any roadblocks are eliminated.
- Initiate and conduct process improvement dialogs with Supervisors, Team Leads and Team Members.
- Participate in root cause analysis and resolution on all forms of loss, i.e., safety, quality, production, rework, etc.
- Adhere to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, work execution, safety, and MSHA regulations in performing assigned duties.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Ability
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Thorough knowledge of removal and repair of components of large mining equipment.
- Good human relations skills to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
- Valid Driver’s
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
- Level II (2) Ultrasonic Testing/Magnetic Particle Testing
- Liquid Penetration (PT)
PREFERRED
CWI Certification
Minimum of five (5) years of QA/QC experience in repairing large mining or other industrial equipment or maintenance repair in similar work environment.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Exposed to dirt, grease, dust, noise, chemicals, paints and other elements
- Exposed to extreme temperatures
- Perform tasks & duties in the elements – inside / outside
- Heavy lifting – up to 50
- Climbing equipment i.e. ladders/stairs
- Working at heights
- Working in confined spaces
- Prolonged walking, sitting and standing
- Working in elevated position, climbing, bending, stooping, and pulling
- Use of all necessary personal protective equipment
- Use hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
- Use feet frequently in repetitive movement
- May require travel, overtime and varying schedules
