About the Job
The QA Supervisor provides leadership support to plant QA Techs, ops team members, and lab staff. Actively participates in resolving packaging issues at the plant facility, ensuring manufactured products meet customer expectations. The QA Supervisor is responsible for GMP compliance, plant quality audits, and promoting a positive quality culture within the facility. Actively assists in the continuous development of site quality programs and certifications. The QA Supervisor has the responsibility of supporting the packaging line, first pass quality, and changeover management. They are responsible for overall packaging compliance of the lines and review / perform RedZone checks as required to meet the requirements of the Master Manufacturing Record and regulatory requirements. When non-conformances arise, they are responsible for controlling the non-conformance via hold forms and system holds or assisting in rework on-line. They are responsible of the initial and annual training of the Quality Technicians. They are responsible working closely with the lab during the night hours for assistance in releasing and taste testing. Actively participate in resolving packaging issues at the plant facility, ensuring manufactured products meet customer expectations.
- As part of the quality team, help drive a positive plant Quality culture change by leading with a positive attitude and innovative thinking.
- Actively coach plant personnel to continuously raise the standard of plant quality performance. Help in the execution of education and development programs for all employees including GMPs and food safety policies.
- Support each department when quality issues arise.
- Primary Quality Leader for night shift teams. Routinely check in and provide QA support to the following departments (Dispense, Blending, Production, and Warehouse.) (visual inspections, ATP swabs, weigh out verifications, Redzone, etc).
- Responsible for overall Redzone quality checks to ensure first pass quality and consistent documentation completion.
- Pallet Quantities & Stacking Conformance.
- Label & neckband quality meets visual standards.
- Lids are on bottle correctly and seals are good.
- Product Data is correct - inkjet, case label, pallet label, etc.
- Perform assigned Redzone quality inspection checks to ensure products meet the requirements of the Redzone/Master Manufacturing Records (MMR); Confirm product adheres to visual standards.
- Maintain and develop electronic datasheets and electronic system verification checks in tablet system for plant operations and QA Line Techs.
- Design and implement line startups, quality line checks, changeovers, and drive program improvements.
- Review quality production records and signoffs.
- Responsible for Customer sample collection and inspection.
- Quality lead for managing changeover process in the filler room.
- Perform visual inspections, ATP swabs, and allergen swabs to minimize cross-contamination and cross-contact risk.
- Verify proper line clearance.
- Notify QA Management/Production Management and others as appropriate when ingredients or products do not meet specifications or there are food safety or quality concerns.
- Monitor Team Member call-ins to maintain an accurate daily total of Team Members present.
- Responsible for controlling hold forms and system holds when a non-conformance occurs and assisting in rework on-line.
- Responsible for reviewing batch record and rework packets prior to production.
- Provide QA Label and Component Document Coordinator with non-conformance report on components used on packaging lines to ensure timely Supplier NCRs.
- Follow plant GMP’s and safety guidelines to always maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Responsible for training Line Technicians on quality functions.
- Read and properly interpret documents such as swab results, GMP Manuals, HACCP programs and procedure manuals.
- Complete all required documents in a timely manner.
- Advise manufacturing personnel on compliance of GMP’s.
- Assist with plant audits as needed.
- Works with Quality, Maintenance, and Production Supervisors to resolve issues relation to the efficient operations of a production line or area.
- Provides a positive example for other Team Members by practicing good personal hygiene and following all Food Safety Policies required by MSG.
- Maintain the Hold, Foreign Material, and Non- conformance reports to ensure accuracy in a timely fashion.
