Summary You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist (Bridge) in the Quality Assurance Office, Nuclear Inspection Division, Code 139 at PSNS and IMF. This is a competitive detail not to exceed one year and is intended to provide an opportunity to gain the competencies necessary to perform the duties of a Quality Assurance Specialist. If selected there will be no change in your salary. Upon successful completion of one year, you may be eligible to compete for series 1910 Quality Assurance positions. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the shipyard's accountability of work on projects assigned, assisting in coordinating efforts with other personnel assigned to similar projects. You will perform audits and surveillance under supervision undertaken by the Quality Assurance Office. You will plan and review the inspection of critical products or processes under supervision to ensure that materials meet quality and certification requirements. You will develop, issue, and revise instructions under supervision, which interpret and implement NAVSEA and other higher authority requirements in the area of material inspections. You will prepare formal reports which clearly and concisely identify project results. You will review Objective Quality Evidence for completeness and accuracy to determine that all critical work was properly authorized and performed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This is a competitive detail not-to-exceed one year. Those eligible for this opportunity must have journey-level trades experience in one of the following series: 2801, 5301. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Temporary actions taken under this announcement may be terminated at any time before the established not-to-exceed date. Detail cannot result in a promotion or permanent position without further competition. Detailee will continue to be paid by the home command, and salary will be reimbursed.
