Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance and Document Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability for Morse Micro's Wi-Fi HaLow integrated circuits (ICs) used in various applications. This role involves developing and implementing quality assurance protocols, working closely with design, product engineering, NPI engineering, production teams, and production control partners, and overseeing testing processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. Additionally, the role manages, organizes, and controls all internal and external documents to ensure proper maintenance, review, updates, and archiving, aligning with both company and industry standards. The position ensures compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and project timelines, while keeping documentation accessible and up to date. This role also provides weekly reports on product quality and document control summaries to management and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality assurance protocols and processes for Wi-Fi HaLow ICs to meet stringent performance and reliability standards.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, product engineering, NPI, and production, to proactively identify, address, and resolve quality-related issues.
- Oversee comprehensive testing and validation procedures to ensure ICs meet both customer specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory standards, and industry certifications.
- Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for any identified non-conformities, ensuring long-term resolution.
- Possess deep familiarity with industry regulatory and compliance certifications, including ISO, JEDEC, and RoHS, to ensure that all manufacturing vendors are fully certified to produce our products.
- Ensure continuous monitoring and improvement of IC quality and reliability throughout the entire production cycle.
- Document Control:
- Manage the document control process for all internal and external documents, ensuring timely review, approval, and distribution across relevant teams.
- Organize and maintain comprehensive, accurate records, including design documents, datasheets, product specifications, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), test reports, and quality records.
- Ensure strict version control, timely updates, and secure archiving of documents in accordance with both company policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure that documentation aligns with project timelines and industry standards, including ISO certifications and other relevant quality requirements.
- Guarantee all team members have easy access to the most current documentation, tracking changes where necessary to maintain clarity and consistency.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate, up-to-date documentation promptly.
- Facilitate and oversee the company's ISO registrations and certifications, ensuring ongoing compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Collaboration & Compliance:
- Work closely with production control teams to ensure seamless alignment in production quality control processes and standards.
- Ensure all products consistently meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications.
- Verify that all products comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEEE 802.11ah) and applicable regulatory guidelines, maintaining a focus on precision and compliance.
- Stay updated on industry developments, standards, and best practices, particularly in Wi-Fi HaLow technology and quality assurance, to maintain a competitive edge.
- Foster clear and open communication with cross-functional teams to promptly address and resolve quality assurance and document control challenges.
- Actively participate in project meetings, delivering timely updates on quality assurance and document control initiatives.
- Provide comprehensive weekly update reports to management and key stakeholder teams to ensure transparency and alignment on progress.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements in quality assurance and document control to boost efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Stay current with evolving quality standards and regulatory requirements, making necessary adjustments to company processes to maintain alignment.
- Ensure the company achieves and maintains full compliance with industry standards and certifications.
Experience Required:
- 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance and document control, preferably in the semiconductor or electronics industry.
- Proven experience with IC production, testing protocols, and quality standards such as ISO 9001.
- Knowledgeable in document management systems and processes.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies and industry standards.
- Excellent organizational and document control abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in using document control software and tools.
- Effective communicator with strong teamwork skills, capable of collaborating across departments.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in quality assurance contexts.
- Experience with ISO 9000 standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Prior experience with Wi-Fi chips or in semiconductor manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including IC fabrication, assembly, and testing.
- Experience in resolving manufacturing issues with suppliers is strongly preferred.
- Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., CQE, CQA) or experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes is advantageous.
- Experience in Physical Failure Analysis (PFA), with the ability to interpret results and guide root cause analysis, is highly preferred.
Work Environment:
- Work is conducted in both office and laboratory settings, with occasional travel required to customer or supplier sites.
