Job Responsibilities:
The Quality Control Manager will direct and manage quality assurance and food safety systems. Will also be responsible for implementing quality performance. The position will manage inspections and audits by regulatory agencies (USDA), customers, and third-party auditing companies. Will direct compliance to quality, GFSI standards, GMP’s, HACCP, SQF audit requirements, sanitation, pest control, and Food Defense. QA Flexible schedule will be required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience managing a quality department in a meat manufacturing facility.
- HACCP Certified (USDA Meat and Poultry).
- Experienced in the development, implementation, and maintenance of SQF programs.
- Knowledge of GFSI, HACCP, GMP’s, SSOP, USDA.
- Knowledge of conducting periodic MOCK Recalls to ensure that the traceability program is functioning properly, and assure all other internal QA.
- Test and inspect products, ingredients, and materials used at all stages of production for conformance to company standards.
- Track and coordinate nonconformance issues within and between departments.
- Further development and deployment of quality systems.
- Prepare facility for GFSI and SQF certifications.
- Train and mentor the QC Supervisor in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Self-starter, motivated, self-driven.
- Excellent writing, reporting, and data gathering abilities.
- Proficient in English, Bilingual Spanish ( but not required).
Experience Required:
- HACCP, SQF, and or other GFSI Certification.
- Quality Assurance (Food) 3-5 Years.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science/or Associates with QA 3-5 experience.
