Quality Control Technician – Precision Machining Inspector
$2,500 Hire Bonus – 50% paid after 30 days of employment, balance after 90 days.
3rd Shift - Friday-Saturday-Sunday 6:00am-6:30pm. (Work 36 hours - get paid for 40)
We are seeking a detail/results oriented, Quality Control Technician for our plant in Trumbauersville, Pennsylvania. The Quality Control Technician will monitor the quality of incoming and outgoing products and materials. The position requires qualifying first piece inspection of parts, analyzing measurements, and overseeing the capability of the production processes which must meet the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineering drawing. Final and lot inspections are also critical aspects of this role which will be performed as required.
Duties Include:
· Determining the correct choice of verification techniques and equipment for quality validations.
· Performing first piece inspections, WIP Inspections final inspections per Quality Plans. This includes the verification of material from suppliers, first time deliveries, Engineering Changes, rework, or material with a history of poor performance on the factory floor.
· Operating and programming Zeiss CMM’s and programmable data collection equipment to align with Control Plan requirements.
· Validating parts and preparing quality documentation for submittals to the Customer, in alignment with Customer, Contract, and Regulatory requirements
· Engaging in roving manufacturing audits for part and systems compliance
· Validate NPI (New Product Introduction) process to ensure capability to manufacture new products.
· Verification and support for dispositions of nonconforming materials whether internal or customer returns through an RMA procedure. This includes ensuring the integrity of the quality data input in the Nonconforming Material Report database. Interface with internal and external personnel may be required in the performance of these activities.
· Working with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to establish appropriate production and quality control standards.
· Keeping measurement equipment operational by following operating instructions, calling for repairs, and keeping gages calibrated.
· Participating in problem solving activities using data analysis and SPC techniques, as well as effective cross-functional problem-solving skills.
· Providing basic training on quality related topics and inspection/verification techniques to machine operators.
· Assisting with the planning of specifications and processes using APQP methods, including design, construction, packaging, quality control, and SPC
· Assisting manufacturing teams in developing and maintaining robust PFMEAs, Control Plans and appropriate controls to support the production of consistent product from run to run.
· Collaborating with team to identify and implement process improvements
Requirements include:
· Prefer a working knowledge of measuring equipment including CMM, Optical Comparator, Vision Systems, Non-Contact Measuring systems, Micrometers, Calipers, and all other handheld measuring tools.
· Effective communication skills.
· Detail oriented team player
· Strong blueprint reading skills and familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing.
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· 3+ year’s experience in a fast paced precision machining environment
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
· Basic Solidworks experience - preferred
· Gage R R studies
· Ability to complete product layouts from blueprints.
· Material Process Certifications and Test Report Verifications.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and Quality software.
· Knowledgeable performing first piece, final inspection, in process and receiving inspection.
· Calibration of measuring instruments a plus.
· Operation of CMM and OGP vison system (or equivalent) a plus.
· SPC and Control / Run / Trend Analysis Charting.
· Process / Equipment capability studies.
· Previous Aerospace Manufacturing Quality experience a plus.
· Background in ISO9001 and AS9100 a plus a plus.
· Lean Manufacturing experience knowledge.
· Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent knowledge a plus.
