Quality Control Technician
Plants to Food is a manufacturer of spice blends, plant-based sauces, condiments, dressings, salsas, sauces, and infused oils. We specialize in clean-label, non-GMO, All-Natural, and Organic products. We maintain an SQF certification and carry Gluten-Free, Kosher, and Organic certifications.
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for adherence to and performance of Plants to Food Quality and Food Safety Programs, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), and all other systems. This is a high-paced position. The Quality Control Technician reports directly to the Quality Manager.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Responsible for monitoring and programming critical control points (CCP).
- Responsible for monitoring product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.
- Responsible for correctly recording and filing all relevant record logs and documentation.
- Ensures the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing.
- Ensures employees are following all food safety and worker safety practices.
- Ensures and educates employees on food safety and SQF standards.
- Responsible for issuing disciplinary action when directed.
- Collect product samples for product development, lab retains, and the laboratory when directed.
- Perform inspections on products, equipment, and machinery.
- Complete corrective actions
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus
- Must be able to multitask.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shifts
- Attention to detail
