The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that incoming raw material and manufactured products meets specified standards and requirements. This role involves conducting measuring, testing, inspections, and analysis of products and raw materials to ensure consistency, safety, and quality.
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that incoming raw material and manufactured products meets specified standards and requirements. Duties:
- Use precision measuring tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify product dimensions and specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Perform various tests on products to determine compliance with quality standards.
- Document and maintain inspection results by completing reports, logs and update vendors with Non Conformance Material Report and create necessary Purchase Order Returns(POR).
- Create and maintain Quality metrics such as vendor Rejection rate.
- Report any quality issues to the respective department and assist in investigating and resolving product quality issues.
- Assist in developing and implementing quality control processes and procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support lean manufacturing practices.
- Provide feedback to production staff and management on areas for improvement in quality and processes.
- Follow company policies and procedures for quality assurance and safety.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in quality control or a similar role in the Equipment Manufacturing industry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
- Proficient in using measurement and testing instruments.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
