We are seeking a talented and motivated Quality Control Technician focused on Video & Audio systems. This hands-on role is critical in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Pro AV products, directly contributing to our reputation for excellence. The QC Technician will work closely with the Engineering and Production Departments to verify product integrity and ensure adherence to specifications before release and shipment. A key responsibility of this role is the inspection of incoming raw materials using industry-standard tools.
BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take ownership of all aspects of Quality Control, with a focus on inspecting incoming raw materials to ensure they meet company and customer specifications.
- Implement incoming inspection processes (AQL) for all deliveries..
- Perform quality inspections on AV hardware, including verification of dimensions, labels, appearance, and packaging, with a focus on identifying and documenting any non-conformances.
- Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations on non-conforming products, applying Quality and Manufacturing principles, including statistical analysis and human factors.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to ensure that new or modified products meet all requirements before mass production.
- Assist in the resolution of customer and internal issues regarding product quality, aiming for zero defects and continuous improvement.
- Document inspection results and non-conformances into the Quality Management System (QMS) or ERP system, ensuring accurate and detailed records of all inspections and findings.
- Utilize lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, and signal generators, to test and validate product performance, ensuring it meets BCI’s stringent quality standards.
- Develop and update work procedures and documentation for new and existing products, ensuring that all processes are clearly documented and adhered to.
- Collaborate with Engineering to address hardware/software concerns and recommend improvements to manufacturing processes based on QC findings.
- Communicate changes in quality control procedures across departments, ensuring clear understanding and consistent application of new standards.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- 5 years of hands-on experience in quality control of AV hardware and systems, with a strong focus on Pro AV products.
- Solid understanding of electronic, mechanical, and cable assemblies, with experience in soldering and rework to IPC-A-610 standards.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, Vision Measurement Systems (VMS), micrometers, and other tools relevant to raw material inspection.
- Knowledge of electrical/hardware schematics and drawings, with the ability to identify errors and provide detailed reporting.
- Experience in documenting inspection results into Quality Management Systems (QMS) or ERP systems.
- Training or knowledge in Lean/5S principles preferred.
- CQE certification or experience in ISO 13485 & 9001:2016 quality systems is a plus.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar engineering field is beneficial but not required..
