SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a manufacturing company seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their facility in Canby, OR. This company specializes in the production of custom transformers and inductors for a variety of industries. This is a contract to hire position with the possibility of full-time employment after six months.

Primary Function:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for incoming, in-process and final inspections related to the manufacturing of electro-mechanical parts/assemblies. You will work closely with manufacturing personnel, engineers, vendor management and lab technicians. Record and document failures and quality escapes and help implement corrective actions and process changes as required to improve quality.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Perform or oversee incoming, first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Operate CMM and other metrology tools.
- Manage calibration tracking for in-house tooling, maintaining service records.
- Support various manufacturing operations, including materials handling as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and logs; update records in Issue Tracking system.
- Recommend process modifications to enhance productivity and quality, and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming materials.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Shop Manager.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or Certification in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Quality Technician or similar role in manufacturing.
- Proficient in CAD software and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of GD&T with the ability to provide feedback for documentation improvements.
- Preferred experience with 3D measuring tools like CMMs, optical systems, and microscopes.
- Skilled in creating and interpreting technical dimensional reports.
- Ability to visually inspect electronic assemblies for defects.
- Familiarity with identifying small electrical components (e.g., resistors, capacitors).
- Strong root cause analysis skills (e.g., 5Y, Ishikawa, Fault Tree Analysis).
- Familiar with 5S, Lean, Six Sigma (preferred but not required).
- Understanding of ESD protocols and ISO9000 is a plus.
- ASQ certification is a bonus.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, work independently with attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively.

- Ability to pass background check upon acceptance of an offer.
Work Environment:
Standard lab/production environment. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
