Job Title: Quality Inspector Reports to: Operations Manager Classification: Non-Exempt
Duties & Responsibilities
· Read instructions and prints to understand quality expectations for products and supplies.
· Approve or reject raw materials based on quality standards and record performance of supplies.
· Select and inspect output samples using appropriate methods, including measuring dimensions, testing functionality, and comparing to specifications.
· Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to specifications.
· Maintain inspection records by completing detailed reports and performance records.
· Inspect the entire production cycle to ensure efficiency and compliance with quality and safety standards.
· Monitor the use of gauges and testing equipment to ensure they are safe and well-maintained. Report any issues to the Supervisor.
· Prepare, scan, and electronically file quality control reports.
· Recommend improvements to the production and quality processes.
· Teach the production team about quality control concepts, when requested, to improve product quality.
· Resolve quality-related issues promptly.
· Initiate and process Non-Conforming Material Reports, tagging discrepant or suspect material until dispositioned.
Required Skills & Abilities
· Proven experience as a quality inspector or in a relevant role.
· Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems.
· Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
· Proficiency in Word and Excel, with the ability to locate, open, modify, and save electronic files.
Education & Experience
· High School Diploma or Equivalent.
· Two years of experience in a comparable field.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift 30-50 lbs.
· Prolonged periods of standing and walking on uneven concrete surfaces.
